NOCTURNAL RITES Complete 'Avalon' Video, Continue Work On New Material

February 3, 2005

Bassist Nils Eriksson of the Swedish power metallers NOCTURNAL RITES has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"We have finished shooting a video for the track 'Avalon' — our third clip off 'New World Messiah'. It is being edited right now and we'll try to get our hands on some screen shots for you next week.

"Songwriting is also moving along. Sometimes bumpy and annoying, sometimes pure joy — same as every time. Would be nice to be in one of those boy bands that just choose their songs from a long list and then simply go and put their crap on tape. Well, maybe not... However, the new stuff we have written sounds great and I am sure both old and new fans will sing and dance to these tunes."

NOCTURNAL RITES' sixth studio album, "New World Messiah", was released last spring through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Shadowland" was recorded in the band's hometown of Umea, Sweden and was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studio in Helsinki, Finland by T.T. Oksala (TIAMAT, APOCALYPTICA) and Minerva Pappi.
